Abstract

Using an investigative approach, this study seeks to survey the importance of course subjects in hospitality management courses from the perspective of full-time faculty in a college. A pilot study was administered to arrive at 140 important course subjects. Correlated course subjects were grouped into 8 factors based on distinct characteristics of the important course subjects through factor analysis as a statistical method.A framework is proposed detailing the course subject items, factors, and their position as either core (mandatory) or elective (choice). Suggestions and recommendations are provided for the course subject importance in hospitality managementcurriculum, which may be useful to primary stakeholders of the service sector and educationists.
