Abstract

The aim of this study was to know the women empowerment through sports among Haryana female hockey players. The objective of the study were to know the empowerment of girls in the sports of Hockey, to know regularity and punctuality of the female hockey players during coaching, to find out the level of achievement in Hockey, to access the family support for continuation in sports and to find out the level of confidence in female hockey players after joining the sports. The study was conducted on thirty (30) females hockey player were randomly selected from Rajiv Gandhi Khel Stadium, Rohtak, Haryana. The sample age ranged from 12 to 25 years. The selected variables for the study were Educational Status of Parents (ESP), Regularity in Training (RT), Level of Achievement in Sports (LAS), Family Support (FS), and Participants Attitude after Joining the Sports (PAJS). Self-prepared Closed Questionnaire and the descriptive survey method was used for collection of data. Percentile method was used for analysis of data. In regard to variable ESP, the percentage of educated parents were 86.66% and uneducated were 13.34%. In regard to variable RT, the percentage of female hockey players those who attended the regular coaching were 97.25% and irregular were 2.75%.
