Abstract
Impression management IM is an activity of altering the perception of others that is formed about oneself. Individuals strive hard to set a good impression about them in the workplace. Both men and women are involved in impression setting in order to find growth in the work place. Impression management strategies are Ingratiation, Intimidation, Exemplification, Self-promotion and Supplication. The purpose of the study is to find the impact of IM on job attitude components such as Job satisfaction, Organisational commitment and role satisfaction across the male and the female gender. The study was conducted among employees and managers of all levels from various sectors of private and public undertakings. The study includes both men and women in between the age group of 20 to 50 and above.
