Abstract

The available literature support the facts that economies with better banking intermediation grows faster while inefficient banking intermediation bear the risk of growth deficit. The present paper1 support this fact by examine the critical condition of Credit Deposit Ratio in Bihar and opined that poor deployment of credit by largest group of financial intermediaries of Indian Economy i.e. commercial banks has reduced the opportunities to grow, resulting into poor capital formation, lesser productivity, lower per capita income, and most important loss of conducive environment.
