Abstract

Differences between markets of different countries exist because of factors such as culture, history and geography, and there are differences between many regions of the world in the way consumers perceive products and brands. In India, local motorcycle brands named Bajaj & Hero are taking on the competition against Japanese brand. Brands such as Bajaj, Hero, Yamaha, TVS, Suzuki and Mahindra, have emerged strongly to compete in the Indian motorcycle market. They have established the brand using technology from Japan, Taiwan and China. While Bajaj & Hero has achieved considerable success especially in the four stroke-moped motorcycles, Mahindra has emerged strongly in the scooter sector.
