Abstract

Time and again, the Indian government and RBI have repeatedly confirmed that financial inclusion is one of the major areas of concern along with the slowing growth rate and persistent inflation. Indian Financial Services sector can boast of all varieties of banks – Public Sector Banks, Private Banks, Foreign Banks, Rural Banks, Cooperative Banks, NBFC s and Microfinance Institutions. But, in spite of all this, we are still unable to provide the financial services and credit facilities to a large number of populations. Millions of people are still at the mercy of money lenders for those thousands, ten thousands rupees loan to cover their medical expenses or marriage expenses.
