Abstract

It is very essential for every individual to play an important role in decision making with regard to ethical practices. The study is aimed to examine the ethical ideologies and understand certain difficult issues faced by the employees in educational institutions in Hyderabad and surrounding areas. This research is designed for empirical study of the ethical positions held by the employees working in various educational institutions. A sample of 72 employees was drawn from 6 educational institutions in and around Hyderabad city of Andhra Pradesh, India. The results indicated a high score for idealism when compared to relativism. About 65 per cent are situationists and 35 per cent found to be absolutists. The categories of subjectivists and exceptionists are not found in the study. A negative correlation was found between idealism and education.
