Abstract

INTRODUCTION Each and every individual are differ from one to another not only in respect of physical abilities but also their mental abilities. The different children are born with different abilities. Until 1940s, as Rogers stated that children are meritorious because of their inner potentialities, creativity, power to learn, ability to learn languages, potential to use brain (Akboy, 2004; & Ikiz, 2007). Effective learning depends on the different factors influencing upon the student like personality, study habit, parental influence, and intelligence, environmental condition etc. Learning also depends on how children perceive the educational experiences. Among different factors, intelligence is one of the important factors that influence on the academic achievement of the student. Individual difference is prevailed among the students at any age or level of education in respect of physical abilities, mental abilities, characteristics, behavior, psycho motor abilities, health, parental involvement, home environment, and socio-economic status etc. every aspect of differences influences the child’s academic achievement. Academic achievement means how much knowledge the individual has acquired from the school.
