WORK LIFE BALANCE: A STUDY ON EMPLOYEES OF SELECT CONSULTING FIRMS IN BANGALORE

Abstract

Abstract Work life balance aim to support the needs of staff in achieving a balance between their homes and working lives. It is creating and maintaining a congenial and healthy work environment which helps the employees working in an organization to have a proper balance between the multiple roles they have. The challenge of work life balance is rising to the top of many employers’ and employees’ consciousness. The aim of this paper is to analyze the impact of work life balance (WLB) on employee performance and productivity. Present study consists of total of 70 employees working in different Consulting firms in Bangalore City. Various factors affecting work life balance like flexible and innovative working practices, leave provisions, employee support services have been analyzed. It has been noticed that work life balance is a very important concept for the employees to have a peaceful life, work life programs have the potential to significantly improve employee morale, reduce absenteeism, and retain organizational knowledge etc.
