Abstract

Abstract The present investigation has been conducted with a view to compare the sports motivation between Barodra state and U.P. state team of cricketers. This study was carried out on 30 Ranji cricketers of Barodra and U.P. teams aged below 40. Sports motivation was measured by sports motivation scale (SMS-28) developed by Luc G. Pelletier et.al.(1995).To compare the intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation and amotivation of players. Independent‘t’ test was employed and level of significance chosen to test the hypothesis was 0.05. The finding of the study revealed that the extrinsic motivation, intrinsic motivation and amotivation has no significant difference between Barodra and U.P. Ranji cricketers. The level of significance was set at 0.05.
