ROLE CONFLICT AMONG WOMEN LAWYERS: A SOCIOLOGICAL STUDY IN CHITHRADURGA AND DAVANAGERE DISTRICT

Abstract

The aim of the paper is to focus on the conflicts in role among women lawyers. The women lawyers are required to perform multiple confiscatory roles. The paper highlights the problems a woman has to face due to role conflict. The present work is an attempt towards this direction. This identifies number of major issues and combines empirical material with theoretical insight and discusses the actual position or status of women lawyers in society. The study covers diverse aspects of the subject and discusses complexity of problems of women lawyers. This study is based on empirical data collected through interview with 230 women lawyers in the selected locale of the study- Chithradurga and Davanagere districts of Karnataka state.
