Abstract

Electronic goods industry is a fast growing segment in the Indian market scenario. Internet is being seen not only an important source of information for the buyers of electronic goods but also an effective mode for selling electronic goods. Internet is fast catching up the attention of marketers as an alternate mode for selling electronic goods as it provides comfort and convenience to the buyers as well as effectively reduces the cost of sales for the sellers. The current study aims to develop an insight with regard to the level of usage of internet as a source of information and the reliability level that the users from the urban areas of Doaba region of Punjab associate with the information available on internet. The paper also attempts to provide an insight with regard to the usage level of internet for the purchase of electronic durables and the level of satisfaction of respondents from the urban areas of Doaba region. The study effectively contributes in this regard by providing important findings in these concerns.
