Abstract

The building sector is the biggest consumer of electricity in India, also responsible for the largest chunk of CO2 emission& water consumptions in India. This is the basic reason why Green building movement comes to India so that we can minimise the environment effect caused by the construction activity in India. Green buildings have potential to reduce up to 34 percent lower CO2 emissions, consume 25 percent less energy and 11 percent less water, and have diverted more than 80 million tones of waste from landfills[1].
