Abstract

The Solution of the balance of payments problem of a country depends considerably on the policies it adopts in the import sector and export sector. As far as the foreign trade sector is concerned, the year 1991 is 'watershed' as massive trade liberalization measures adopted since this year mark a major departure from the relatively protection istic trade policies pursued in earlier years . It was only after independence that a trade policy as part of the general economic policy of development was formulated by India. Here we have discussed trade policy after reform period
