The Regionalisation theme and the allied aspects of analyses of regional disparities have attracted considerable attention from researchers. The consideration are mostly technique-oriented and some have also extended their research into planning and policy issues. On the whole, one finds increasing evidence of interest among geographers to test the relevance of specific quantitative techniques as applied to regionalisationn. This is a welcome trend and is bound to lead to increasing retirement in our analytical tool of research. The emerging trend seems to be in favour of sector-specific regional studies is multidisciplinary techniques.
