Abstract

The economy of Bihar is largely service-oriented, but the economy of Bihar is primarily an agrarian economy and there exist many problems like poverty and employment, inequality and disparity in the rural society and regional imbalance in respect of development of different regions/areas and sectors of the regions and areas as well. The economy of Bihar has become extremely dependent on agriculture which generates around half of the net domestic product of the state and engages over 84 per cent of total workers.
