Abstract

The purpose of the study is to study anxiety and arithmetic performance and also to find the relationship between anxiety and arithmetic performance among government high school students. The sample consisted of 78 English medium high school students of 8th and 9th standard. Anxiety is measured using “The Revised Children Manifest Anxiety Scale” by (RCMAS) Cecil Reynold & Bert D.Richmond (1978) Arithmetic performance is measured using one of the subtests of “Binet- simons Scale” (1911). Test results are subjected to statistical analysis which revealed inverse relationship between anxiety and arithmetic performance.
