Abstract

The concept of financial inclusion is of particular importance for developing country like India which is on trajectory of high economic growth. Financial inclusion is a tool to achieve inclusive growth by bringing economically underprivileged within the tenets of formal banking system. It means access and equality of opportunities to unbanked and underbanked for sustainable development. This paper critically analyses the different initiatives taken by Government of India and Reserve Bank of India of financial inclusion with a special focus on women.
