Abstract

Psychologically Stress is a normal human response that occurs to everyone. In fact, everyone experience stress and react to it in day-to-day life. Stress is the feeling of being dazed or unable to cope with mental or emotional pressure. Stress affects not only our physical health but our mental wellbeing, too. In the current scenario there are three major sources of stress as Environmental, Individual and Organizational. The present study was conducted to compare the level of perceived stress among working and non-working women in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The sample comprised of 30 working women and 30 non-working women. Perceived Stress Scale developed by…… was used to assess the level of perceived stress among women. There was significant association of level of stress with the demographic variable ‘occupation’ for both working and non-working women which was statistically significant at P<0.001.
