Self-esteem may be defined simply as favourable or unfavourable attitude towards self. Selfesteem is a multi-faceted construct that describes an individual’s feelings of self-worth. The Current study examined the self esteem among young adults across gender amongst young adults. A total of 100 respondents Fitting in the age range 20-44 were selected . Out of which 50 were male respondents and 50 were female respondents. The data were collected using a self administered scale .i.e. The Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale. The data was coded, tabulated and descriptive statistics was conducted. The results of the study revealed there were Very little significant differences in the self esteem levels of males and females . It was also found that the difference in the study was not Generalizable to the whole population And hence the hypothesis was accepted which means that self esteem is not dependent or influenced by gender.
