WOMEN IN NAXALITE MOVEMENT: PROBLEMS AND PERCEPTIONS

This paper deals with the increased participation of women in Naxalite movement in India. I analyze what reasons provoked the women to join this movement. What kinds of roles are performed by them. This paper tires to locate their position in the organization and problems faced by them during their working within the organization. The paper uses some of the available literature to know about women's position and role in the movement. Concludes that participation is not women's autonomous choice but it is influenced by the patriarchal mindset of society and many other reasons. Although based on Marxist ideology the equal position of women with their male counterpart is doubtful. This paper also gave some policy suggestion for the problem.
