Abstract

In the earlier stage of industrialization there has been a face to face relationship between employers and employees. There was no effective mediation or channel of communication between employers and employees viz., the trade unions that could be used for collective bargaining. Generally the employees were treated as a commodity which could be easily produced and readily replaced.
