Abstract

Women's empowerment is a process of enhancing and improving women's social, economic, and political power in order to provide equal rights for women and to give them the confidence to assert their rights. Self-help groups (SHGs) are intended to provide social and economic empowerment to women. They promote women to take part in home and social decision-making, and they equip rural women to take on leadership roles. In the Uttarakhand district of Haridwar, this study focuses on women's empowerment through self-help organizations. The study's major goal is to investigate the role of a self-help group on rural women's empowerment.
