Abstract

Tourism brings great benefits to the local community in terms of economic, socio-cultural and ecological aspects. And due to these perspectives, the tourism is being used as a catalyst to rejuvenate the rural economies with tourism potential which are struggling or lack avenues for livelihood. The research paper gives impacts of rural tourism after critically reviewing the literature. It gives the impacts of tourism on rural economies highlighting the two sides of the aspect. Also the paper highlights the drawbacks of rural tourism in India, which can be capitalized through effective planning and research.
