Abstract

Mulk Raj Anand (1905-2004) was one of the most outstanding, versatile and prolific of the Indian novelists writing in English. He was born in Peshawar now in Pakistan, studied in India and abroad, Anand has staunch faith in comprehensive historical humanism. It puts its faith in the creative imagination and unconquerable spirit of man and is possible only through socialism, for socialism alone can restore economic and political freedom and thus keep the growth of a full man.
