Abstract

This paper examines the linkage between agricultural growths to economic growth in Odisha in there different time periods. Although the share of agriculture to Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has declined, still agriculture will be remained important for economic growth in Odisha. The study shows that there is a positive relationship between GSDP and GSDP from agriculture which includes husbandry (AGSDP). It has seen that a one per cent increase in agriculture income leads to positive increase in GSDP in each time phase. There is also evidence of causality between agricultural growths to economic growth. This indicates that agricultural growth is prerequisite to economic growth in Odisha. However the reverse does not hold good for the present study.
