Abstract

The novels Cry, the Peacock elaborate upon the theme of existential angst. As stated the novel belong to the initial phase in Anita Desai’s career vistas, with a shift into the inner recesses of the human mind.The novel is preoccupied with martial strife and disharmony arising out of lack of love, affection and respect for one and anothers feelings.
