Abstract

The two countries are indeed "divided by a common language." These lines, credited to Winston Churchill, or George Bernard Shaw, while commenting on linguistic differences between USA and Great Britain, are a perfect analogy for such linguistic differences in Germany and Switzerland. This paper highlights subtle yet notable intercultural contrast which sculpts professional relationships amongst employees of these two countries.
