Abstract

Intimate partner violence, Domestic violence and non-partner violence rates serve as two indices of progress toward Sustainable Development Goals target 5, which aims to eradicate all forms of violence against women and girls. In India, domestic violence is pervasive and deeply ingrained. According to the National Family Health Survey-5 (NFHS 2019–21), more than three out of every ten (30%) Indian women experience domestic abuse.
