Abstract

The Natyashastra is considered very essential text in order to understand the history of art and artistic development. It is the only source through which we can trace the history of music and theatre of India. This paper seeks to examine the uses of songs, its uses on Indian theatrical performances, process of song creation, and implementation of imagined songs on theatrical performances. Songs have remained very essential element in both theatrical and musical traditions.
