Abstract

Marginal Propensity to Consume is an important macroeconomic parameter and policy instrument which is used by the researchers and policy makers to achieve growth in income, full employment and equal income distribution in the economy. In the present study, an attempt has been made to estimate short-run and long-run marginal propensity to consume (MPCS and MPCL respectively) for six large economies of the world: the USA, Germany, China, Japan, India and the UK.
