Abstract

The Tharu culture is an Eco-Friendly culture be it their residence, food, clothes, art, religion or economy. Many other aspects of their life are based on nature which help maintain the ecological balance. Tharus are one of the five largest tribes of undivided Uttar Pradesh declared as scheduled tribe by the President of India in 1967. After the division of Uttar Pradesh, Tharu constitutes the single largest tribe of India.
