RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GENERAL INTENLLIGENCE AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE OF XII STANDARD STUDENTS

Abstract

In the past decade, Emotional intelligence has generated an enormous amount of interest both within and outside the field of Psychology. Emotional intelligence brings together the fields of emotions and intelligence by viewing emotions as useful source of information that helps one to make sure of and navigate the social environment. The present study focuses on the relationship between General Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence of XII standard students. The sample consists of 120 students (Boys=60; Girls=60) from the Government and Private colleges. The tools indicates test of general intelligence and emotional intelligence. The data was collected randomly by taking prior consent. The findings indicate that there is significant correlation between General Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence. The results are discussed in the light of Psychological interactions.
