Abstract

This article aims to explore the importance of Work life balance for working women in India. The importance of Work life balance is more in Indian society as compare to other, as in Indian culture the prime function of women is to take care of family members and household chores while man is the bread earner. So a working woman has to play dual role. As a result she has to balance her work life and personal life. Realizing its importance companies have started some policies to help working woman. This article also explains strategies to tackle work life imbalance. Researches have shown that those employees who were more favourable toward their organization’s efforts to support work-life balance also indicated a much lower intent to leave the organization, greater pride in their organization, a willingness to recommend it as a place to work and higher overall job satisfaction.
