Abstract

Abstract From a very long time the traditional practices carried out in Egypt has earned it a bad reputation. The females in their society were repeatedly crushed under the mar of patriarchy. Society and religion had their impact over the women and led to the downfall in their conditions. In such conditions various illogical customs rooted up. FGM (Female Genital Mutilation) was one such practice. Numerous young girls were tortured physically and psychologically by cutting off their clitoris. Among the victim there rose Nawal El Saadwai who took a stand against the practice. Being the victim she knew the traumas of the mutilation and the humiliation which accompanies that. Throughout her life she continued to fight against the evil which was spread over her country. Though she was asked to leave her country still she continues to work for its betterment. She in all means can be said as the true crusader of feminism who is fighting for the rights of all.
