Abstract

Retail consists of the sale of physical goods or merchandise from a fixed location such as a departmental store in small or individual lots for direct consumption by the purchaser. Retailers are at the end in the supply chain.various factors leading to development of retail sector in india are increase indisposal incomes of middle-classChanging demographicsInternet brought awareness and online shopping facility, etc.though there are various challenges in retail industry such as high real estate costs,supply chain inefficiencies, competition from the unorganised sector ,lack of basic infrasturebut we can see a significant growth as well.
