Abstract

Environmental crisis is a global crisis. There is a saying that ‘Act locally but think globally’. In other words, the damage caused to the environment locally does not confine to that particular topography rather spreads everywhere. There are hundreds of seminars, workshops and innumerable discussions on the issues of environment and equally hundreds of measures are written down in black and white to minimize its desecrations. Despite measures taken in both individual and collective level, the situation is approaching the brink of global disaster. Sometimes the problems are so extensive and far reaching that the future well-being of humanity together with that of many other life forms on the planet is in jeopardy. The crisis has its origination not in the outer Nature but in the very psyche of Man. It is man’s own making. Due to the advancement of science and technology, rapid industrialization, uses of automobiles, careless way of using natural resources, deforestation etc make the Earth hotter day by day. Consequently, global warming contributes for climate change.
