A CORRELATIONAL STUDY OF EMOTIONAL MATURITY AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

The present study is aimed at studying the relationship of emotional maturity with academic achievement of high school students. (a) To study the correlation between emotional maturity and academic achievement. (b) To study the significant difference of emotional maturity academic achievement. The study was conducted on a sample of four hundred (200 boys & 200 girls). High school students are studying in rural and urban areas. To measure emotional maturity of students Dr. Yashvir Singh and M Bhargawa’s emotional maturity scale was used. To study the academic achievement aggregate scores of the students was taken from official records of the school. It was found that there is no high correlation in between emotional maturity and academic achievement and there is no significant difference in emotional maturity and academic achievement scores of students but girls were found more emotionally matured in compression to boys.
