Information is the absolute heart and soul of the modern organization .Gathering and disseminating of proper information by the top level management, sending the relevant feedback through the whole organization and utilizing these feedbacks for making appropriate decision and formulating future plans and policies are the chief activities performed at managerial engineering division and a central workshop situated at Guwahati for major repairing of vehicles, ASTC has not been capable of maintaining sustainable and scientific consumer friendly management information system at its central office and sub-division as well. The management structure of ASTC is not affective one for providing budgetary, accounting and statistical information of the very organization. Thought 5 digit national and 20 state level interactive network based VAST technology are in operation, yet the information technology of ASTC is not highly satisfied without any profound impact on the manner of running daily vehicles at responsible speed and providing- multi – fact services to the passengers. It is due to the facts that the central office and its sub divisions – have not been adequately computerized till now for channelizing different information for the betterment of the entire strata of the society.
