EMOTIONAL MATURITY AND LEADERSHIP STYLE OF TEACHERS

Abstract

Emotion plays a vital role in one’s personality and it involves physiological and overt behavior of a person. Emotional Maturity means a person’s ability to control his/her emotions and express it in a socially desirable manner. Leadership style is the method and approach of providing direction, implementing plan and motivating people for attaining a common goal. The investigators intended to identify the relationship between Emotional Maturity and Leadership styles of teachers. The other objectives of the study were to find the significant difference in Emotional Maturity of teachers at different levels of education and different age groups. Descriptive survey among teachers at Palakkad district was conducted by using Emotional Maturity scale and Leadership style questionnaire. The result of the study reveals that there is low positive correlation between Emotional Maturity and Leadership styles of teachers. But there is a significant difference between teachers at different levels of education with reference to their Emotional Maturity.
