Abstract

Infrastructure plays an important role in development at all levels. Many economists describe the importance of infrastructure in economic development. In fact, developmental activities depend upon infrastructure facilities. It is considered the prerequisite of development. Transportation and communication, financial institutions, power etc. are some important facets of economic infrastructure which are indispensable for accelerated economic development of an economy or a part there of. Haryana State has given more emphasis to create such economic infrastructure so that fast economic development of the state becomes possible. As a consequence, the State has made a significant progress in the field of economic infrastructure but welfare of the people depends on the development as well as distributive aspects of facilities also. Unfortunately, the benefits of the development are not distributed equally among the people and regions of Haryana, causing imbalances and disparities in development in such regions.
