Abstract

With the acute shortage of housing units that is around 2 crore units in urban areas, the government in concerned with growing demand and unmatched supply that is causing the sprawl of slum areas and growing unhygienic living conditions in cities.To provide every citizen with a ‘Pucca house’ by 75th Independence Day in 2022, the Union cabinet given its green node for the launch of “Housing for All by 2022” aimed for urban areas with following components to States/union Territories and cities:
