Abstract

Smart growth is a new razzle-dazzleconcept, which focuses on vibrant, competitive, and liveable urban cores;it also promotes transit-oriented development to enhance the overall economic efficiency. Urbanization and urban growth have always been viewed as a negative connotation but today managing urbanization is the need of hour. The present paper tries to speculate the potential of Neharpar Faridabad, also known as Greater Faridabad, towards smart growth approach. Faridabad is steering on an expressway of development with metro connectivity, proposed eastern and western peripheral expressways for rapid movement. Recently the mien of development and optimism has been seen in this city. Neharpar area is the potential urban utopian site for future development, in real estate sector it has launched its dream project ‘Greater Faridabad’ and this area is being developed as a self-sustained sub-city with wide roads, tall buildings, malls, educational institutions, and health and commercial centers. Just on, the cadence of IMT Manesar, IMT Faridabad project have also been launched which promotes
