HAN MIGRATION INTO XINJIANG: IMPACT ON DEMOGRAPHY

Abstract

the demographic structure of Xinjiang is contionously changing.This paper contributes in the field of Han migration in Xinjiang. How Han migration has changed the demographic profile of Xinjiang and drawing an analysis of decadel growth of Han migration from 1964 to 2010, proportion of Han and Uyghur’s population district wise and composition of Han and Uyghur population in Rural and Urban Xinjiang. This paper highlights how Chienese policies are motiving Han migration in Xinjiang and these policies are affecting socially,culturally and economically Uyghurs and this has become the main reason for increasing conflicts between Han and Uyghur.
