Abstract

Tobacco smoking is among the largest preventable causes of premature deaths globally. Youth demographic segment is characterized where highest rate of smoking habit can be found, the anti smoking advertisement so designed mainly to influence the youth. The study is also discussing the need of change in the present advertisement strategy in this arena. The sample groups were taken from Kanhangad Municipality in Kasaragod district in Kerala state. The study aims to set an analytical background about whether these advertisement makes any significant changes in smoking habits among youth along with to find out any defect in existing marketing or advertisement strategy .Furthermore drafting a better frame work in this regard. The main objectives of the study were to study the smoking habit among youth in Kanhangad Municipality. and analyze Anti-smoking advertisements campaign and also study the effectiveness and influence of Anti-Smoking advertisement campaign among youth . However it is concluded that Anti smoking advertisement is the advertisement which are opposed to or promoting the discontinuance of the smoking of tobacco and these are effective in reducing smoking habit. In short, the government experienced a considerable outcome from the advertisement, so bring more innovative idea and type of advertisement for a far better result.
