Abstract

Pearl S Buck achieved significant success in opening ‘Americans’ minds about social, racial and cultural background of China. A House Divide came in 1935 and is again considered to be a sequel The Good Earth. This is the story of grandson of O- Lan and Wang Lung. This research paper describes comparison of different generation of China. The novel is not very significant in terms of family emancipation. Family characters are mostly in the sideline. This paper deals with the same period of the Chinese revolution that was more fully treated in Man's Fate.
