Abstract

It is said that individuals need help throughout their lives and from this comes the phrase that counselling is needed from “the cradle to the grave”. However, there are certain stages in a human being’s life when counselling is needed more because of the process of development and growth. One of these stages is the period of adolescence when adolescents are usually either in school or college or out of school as‘drop-outs’ and ‘left-outs’), and therefore the need and importance of counselling is highest during this period and for these groups.
