Abstract

Motivation is the lifeline of human beings. This study has been an attempt to study the evolution of motivation in the neo-classical era and in the current era. From the study, it is observed that there are four propositions on motivation. The study tries to identify constructs influencing motivation. Further discussions can be done on how Money is not the only motivational factor for an employee. Also why Job enrichment can be one of the reasons of motivation in modern organization. Some employees are working in less salary with high efficiency, one need to study and identify the factor of motivation of such employees. Identification of Training needs of the employees can also help in improving the employee motivation levels.
