Abstract

Irrigation as matured enlightenment exercised in Tamil Nadu from day’s centuries old. Amid the Sangam age just the deltaic areas were invested with irrigation. The early rulers of Tamil Nadu, in perspective on offering better administration to their subjects presented much consideration on Irrigation and it assumes a crucial job in Agriculture which is the pillar of a huge population in India and Tamil Nadu in Particular. The irrigational plans established the genuine framework for "Green Revolution" in Ramand amid the period of Sethupathis. The self-support in food generation prompts the economic development and the improvement in the standard of life of individuals amid the Sethupathi time frame. This paper is totally centered on irrigation works conveyed from the Pallavas, Cholas to Sethupathis until the British time frame.
