Abstract

Since ages, Shakespeare’s plays have been the core subject for research on human nature and society of the Elizabethan age and still we continuously find something innovative and dynamic in each new investigation undertaken throughout the world. In this paper, I intend to make research on a broader perception of one such Shakespearean play Antony and Cleopatra that is widely read, played and praised as one of the most mature plays having sublimity of rhetoric language and conflict among revelry, sexual desire and duty towards nation as well as self. The methodological procedure of the research is based on Shakespeare’s text and other critical analysis.
